Glad to see you are all enjoying my HNR. Well today started at 6.30am
Early start but it was good in a way as we put a load of washing on then had a coffee to kick start the day.
8am we headed to central Ubud for breaky as our room boy doesn't work Sunday's. But strange thing is the beds were made and the dirty dishes were done when we got back???
We deceided to walk, as the weather was fine and sunny. We walked down Monkey forest Rd then into Dewi Sita. Batan Waru was our choice.
Hubby and I had eggs Benedict 32,000rp each a orange and pineapple juice 22,000rp and 2 latte's 56,000 Coffee was not cheap at all and not that great either. Son had omelette 45,000rp and smoothie 25,000rp
After breaky we noticed that Wallace pearls was closed so we went for a long walk down Hannoman and into Monkey Forest Rd right up to the markets.
We also stopped at the money changer twice.. rate 9,500rp - aust$
As we reached the top we went to Casa Luna for another cup of coffee. These were 48,000rp. This one was not hot.
Son also stopped at a DVD shop and bought 12. Told him to space it out as he has 2 weeks to buy them. He has a list a mile long. Think this is all he came over for??
Oh he also had a fish spa, where the fish eat all your dead skin on your feet. 75,000 for 25min.
We all met up and of course son had to have lunch so he went on his merry way to Mendez for a nasi. Then headed home. We of course had to do more walking to the Bintang shop to buy more supplies, but we hailed a driver to take us back. He wanted 40,000rp we barted and got it for 30,000rp. $3 is a cheap cab trip home after a hot sunny day. I got burnt badly so sunscreen tomorrow.
Chilled out and had a couple of gin and tonics and booked a massage for 6pm at Eve's spa a 5 min walk up Penestan next to Bayu's Kitchen The massage was great. Could not stop laughing as they now have disposable undies. Hubby and I had a double room, so when he put his undies on it looked like it was back to front so he tried to fix it but it still looked like a G string. Well I could not stop laughing and my son was next door and he was laughing as well. We deceided to have dinner next door at Bayu's kitchen. Hubby and I had a Sri Lankan curry 50,000rp around $5 and son had Nasi Camphur 25,000rp around $2.50. Cheap dinner. Off to catch up with the driver we have used over the past 4 years Wayan. His wife has had a baby girl. We arranged for him to pick us up and to take us to the street of wood carvers. He will drop us off the top and we walk down to the bottom about 5km. Then I will call him to pick us up.
Well time for bed for some much needed sleep.
