We flew to Lombok in October with lion air. We booked the tickets over the Internet on their website. Beautiful new planes and the flight and view over the islands was amazing. We went to gills on public boat and chose to catch scoot cat from gills to lembongan and back to sanur. Would never do that again! Roughest, scariest trip of our lives. Same price to fly back. If you can afford it, you can organise charter speed boats to gills. We decided to brave the public boat and the dreaded Bengal harbour. Another scary boat ride in high seas, strong winds and large swell. Locals screaming and praying didn't fill us with confidence! Although a traditional wooden jukung it had no wooden thingies on the side to stabilise it. We are looking forward to Lombok again this year too.
