Just to clarify the 01017 is a prefix that gets you cheap calls on Simpati SIM. You can call without it but will cost a lot more. It probably uses A VOIP gateway which is why sometimes it can be a bit flakey. Last time I had a bit of trouble connecting or once connecting had only one way conversation. Best to hang up and try again. Mobiles cost more
So to call Land line AUST from Bali SIM is
prefix then country code then area code ( without the Zero) then number
eg perth 01017 61 8 xxxx xxxx
Mobile from bali
prefix then country code then number( without the Zero)
01017 61 4xx xxxx xxxx
To call your friend from Perth to "telstra perth global roaming phone number and is in Bali "
Then just call them as per normal, You wont get charged any different but your friend will get charge the international leg, (they are the ones with the global roaming. This also applies to SMS.
