day 1 -
Arrive lunch time, stopped at mini mart on the way to our hotel (101 Legian) got box of water, tooth brushes and paste. did some shopping and went to kuta beach. drank many bintangs. had a cheap dinner at one of the warungs. I loved the bakso that all the carts have.
day 2 (australia day) -
massages, shopping along legian street and a fair bit of walking (around legian / seminak) went to the sky garden for some drinks untill about midnight. they have free arak from 10 - 11 for forigners
day 3 -
bali safari and marine park, we booked this through the company at our hotel. it was expensive. but alot of fun. my girlfrind loved the safari. photos with a baby orangatan, snakes, elephants and also riding of the elephants.
day 4 -
another relaxing day - massage and shopping. we did go and see kutut's fixed price shop. its was great and good prices. we also found a small fixed price shop with sunglasses / wallets / hats / and all the other usual stuff the little shops sell. this was handy as we knew what everything was really worth. and used this when bartering.
Loved bartering with the locals, it is fun. remembering that an extra 10,000 RP is only $1 when bartering for something.
day 5 -
Hired a driver called Gorgeous who we met on the street, he sounded like a nice guy and his english was good. we asked how much for a day of driving. he said 450,000 RP. i ended up getting him down to 370,000 for a day. but after our day of driving was over. i paid him 450,000 any way. as we didnt arive back at our hotel till about 8pm and i was extreamly happy with his services. in our day of driving we went white water rafting, went to ubud monkey forest and markets, then down to Tanah Lot for sunset. was a great day. day 6 -
another relaxing day, massage, shopping and swimming in the hotel pool which is on the roof. was great to get awat from the busyness of legian st and chill out at the pool on the roof. drinks were expensive at out hotel, around 40,000 RP for a small bintang. so we didnt drink too much there. Breakfast at our hotel was great. so much food! bacon, eggs, snags, fried rice, noodles, fruit, crosants, pancakes, muffins, salad, lots of juices to choose from.
day 7 -
hired gorgeous for half day, left hotel at 1pm. went to nusa dua for a swim and look around, then to uluwato to see the view, moneys and temples. then to jimbaren bay for dinner. we were back to hotel by 8:30pm.
Dinner at jimbaren was very nice. but expensive. i had the barracuta. they have every seafood there.
day 8 -
went to waterbom from about 10 - 4. loved it here so much fun. food was also nice here and cheap.
day 9 -
checked out of our hotel and got on a plane back to australia.
best thing about bali was the people. always saying hello and happy to talk. locals are very welcoming. the locals selling things in the market are a bit annoying but you get used to them. the amount of hours they spend in there little shops and on the street is amazing. some open at 8am and close around 11pm. so every sale they make is great for them.
