I took a tablet with me last year when staying for a month but didn't end up using it. I found it was easier to just do stuff on my phone, even though the screen was smaller. I didn't send any emails as everyone I would have emailed is on Facebook - so just did check-ins, photo uploads and status updates on there and that kept everyone updated. I even booked a few things online using the phone. I just found the tablet too slow and awkward to use.
