consider letting your 16yo loose on the roads in Bali? Gee he's just learnt to keep the bike upright! Let alone be able to navigate through the traffic AND motor bikes that traverse the roads from all directions. I've been riding a motor bike in Oz for more than 30 years, have been to Bali more times than I can count, and I still would not consider riding/driving a motor bike over there. If you allow him (and if he's licenced) to ride over there, then I hope you have a fair bit of "spare cash" as he will be targeted by the custodians of the law at every turn. Also make sure he has an "approved" helmet, 'cos he'll get done for that too. Oh, and Mum and Dad need to be very sure that they have covered all the bases as far as travel insurance is concerned too. Many Forumites can testify as to the horrendus costs that are created when you need Emergency Medical care on Bali. Not to mention the costs of Medical Transfers Flights back to Australia. When added up, the cost starts to read like a phone number. Anyway its only my opinion. Enjoy your stay.
