It is up to each parent if they want to take there kids on holidays, they have as much right to be there as anyone, no one here 'owns Bali' although a lot act like it... But as a parent I do think you should take as much as you can to entertain them, it's not that hard to bring a DVD player, Ipod, colouring, new toys etc...
Last time I was flying a young girl, maybe 3 years old was up and down the plane (with a bottle hanging out of her mouth) going up into the back "kitchen bit" with the flight attendants and they kept telling her to get out. The Dad was with her and was hardly making half an attempt to take her out... then she was over at my seat still with her bottle hanging out of her mouth, seeing what we were doing... The Mum was kicking back watching a DVD with head phones on and Dad didn't tell her to go back to her seat. They probably saw all the things I had bought for my daughter to play with and thought I would look after her.
Saying that, another flight when they were serving drinks, and the cart was unattended for a moment, adults started grabbing the bottles and pouring their own drinks!!!!! How FERAL......
