Hi.,..I always stay first in night in Bali at the Hotel, and the last two nights. I dont about Suites, but I have noticed the property on the way to the hotel and it didnt seem very far at all. I love the hotel, my bfast has always been included in room price and has everything you could wish for and more..The long pool past the rooms is terrific and big open property and wouldnt hesitate to stay there with kids and maybe bus down to the other place for a waterslide or whatever daily. Think your son will be happy with pool at Hotel if you have to stay there, and it is only a little walk to the beach and all the warungs and market stalls.Lots of open space for him to play in garden etc in centre of hotel.
