Had a driver once who had a little English and was finding learning more very confusing. His confusion arose from the fact that to him "Guy" and "Gay" sounded exactly the same. He hadn't offended any Gay Guys by calling them "Guys" nor did he offend most of the straight guys he called "Gays" however some of the, shall we say, less enlightened male persons (as the police like to say) were a tad unhappy with him.
The whole conversation was most helpful not only for his English but for my Bahasa Indonesia.....
