It's not really funny, but it's just how they roll. I went parasailing when I was about 15 and not sure if it is still the same but to land you had to bring yourself in by pulling hard on the left side and then letting it go and floating in when the guy on the beach instructed you to using his paddles to indicate when. However it was a bit of a line up of parasailers with one boat fairly closely following the next. When it was time for me to stop pulling and start floating in, he was already off instructing the next person on how to land so I thought he wanted me to pull dwon hard again which meant I came HOONING in to the beach.
Well about 4 nice balinese guys tried to catch me to stop a real hard crash landing and I ended up dislocating one of the guys knee caps. Well he put it straight back in and was up assisting the next parasailer before I'd even got all the sand out of my mouth. Some humble apologies and a big tip and he was happy and worked away the rest of the day like nothing had happened. Hopefully the safety standards are a bit better now.
