be programmed to be quiet during a flight. It could be their ears hurting from the pressure, or perhaps they are scared of the noise & unfamiliar surroundings.I think most parents do their utmost to consider other passengers.
There is of course, always the exception.
We were flying back from Bali one time, and the plane had barely taken off, when the father of two boys in front of us assisted his probably 9 & 11 year olds to lay their seats back as far as they would go, leaving us pinned in our seats.
When I politely asked if they could put their seats up enough to let us fill out our arrival/custom cards, the Father gave me a filthy look, and after about 3 mins, leaned back & asked had I finished yet?
As far as I am concerned, the Father was activley encouraging his boys to ignore the comfort of anyone except themselves.
