although I can see Berluspony comment may have hit a raw nerve, there is a lot of truth in what has been said. I have also travelled with my children when they are younger, and I dont think anyone enjoys it. however I do think there are some parents who could perhaps help a little bit more with the children for the sake of everyone around them. for eg. we recently returned on a late flight and were trying to get some sleep, which many passengers were trying to do. there was a family with three children, one was not well, and I felt for him and his mum who was looking after him. however father was sitting in a differeent row with other children aged abour 8 and 10. they had some gaming equipment or an ipad and were playing their game with the volume on full showing so consideration for people around that were trying to sleep. father had his laptop with his head phones on so he didnt care.
I know little babies and todlers can be very difficult to fly with, and you can only do your best, but I also think that if parents of older children could encourage their children to be mindful of others around them, then it would make it more bearable for all passengers. eg, no kicking seats in front, no running up and down the aisle, use headphones etc.
