the times for restriction to quarters starts from Midnight 22nd March and goes through to 6am on 24th March...so it is actually 36 hours of no noise, power, leaving the premises, etc. We also learnt that the airport starts to shut down from 10pm on the night before Nyepi day as they wouldn't let the careflight take off to go back to Sydney 2 years ago! Whilst it is always a rest for us adults, the kids do not like the no electricity in the night and we were chastised by the pecalang ( security in the streets) for having the TV on for the kids at night....
