I'm reasonably certain that it is the superior rooms that are the newer ones closer to the pool. This is what I stayed in with my aunt in July. (They have the orange feature wall as per the hotel's website. Nice fresh rooms with large balconies - upstairs anyway!)
The family rooms are in the older 4 storey building further back from the pool area. I didn't see the family rooms but my aunt did and she said they were pretty big and looked ok.
I liked our stay here, although I normally travel with our 2 boys. Pool is not overly huge but big enough for the size of the hotel. It had a pool bar. The food service was good also. Lovely guacamole!
B/F was basic but fine - couple of hot dishes, eggs cooked to order.
No kettle in room but room service would deliver promptly when you rang in the am for ~ $2 or $3, easier than making it yourself!
Down a laneway ~ 100m or so from the memorial site. Some cheap, nice restaurants to eat along Jl.Legian and P2.
Enjoy your stay : )
