Reminiscing about Bali counting down til we leave next week and thought I would share a Bali Tale.
We were going on a trip to see the fire dance at Uluwatu and visit the Moneys there. We got out of the car and are given sarongs to wear and the kids are thirsty so we stop in to buy a drink at the small store. The elderly lady behind the counter wearing a faded Aussie cap and a cheeky grin starts to have a chat in broken English and sells us a bag of peanuts each to feed the Monkeys.
Off we go with said peanuts in hand and wonder why all the Monkeys we come across seem uninterested in our offerings of food, and are keen to make a grab for the cold bottles of water. We look back to see the elderly woman, following down the path. When she catches up to us we ask why the monkeys aren't taking the peanuts -she replies that they don't eat them!!! She got us good.
We ask to take her photo and it takes pride of place in the Bali album -along with a great story of how we got a bit stung in Bali -definitely worth the couple of bucks for the peanuts!!!
