You can purchase an extra seat for comfort on Virgin. I'm not sure how much but I believe someone told me it was half price of your ticket (not sure though). At least that way you can set your baby up on the spare seat (maybe on a pillow) to hopefully sleep the flight away. Ring the Call Centre 136789 and ask about your options, it can't hurt! Good luck!
