It depends on what medications they are. Run of the mill is ok, but I take a copy of the prescription and/or a letter from the Doctor.
However, if they prohibited medications ( eg. Ones containing codeine ) then you cannot legally take them in.
The same as when people try and being things into Australia that is legal in their country, a letter from their Doctor won't help. If they are banned in the country you are entering then you cannot take them in. Bali has some strange banned substances so best to check, on the other hand you can buy pseudoephedrine, Valium and antibiotics over the counter!
