We just got back:( and my kids got quite a few mozzie bites, not a big deal but I would say take some troppical aeroguard with you as well as some sting goes. We started off using :off: insect spray and found it wasn't doing the job so used the aeroguard I took along as well and it worked much better.
Also ask the hotel to spray your room if there is a problem
