Perhaps when we travel without other families we'll check out Melati, as it does look like a great find.
Other friends who travelled in a large group stayed at The Villas in Seminyak. They loved it and had a huge pool etc but at $500 per night I would expect a great place. They had no issues with being too loud as their villa grounds had so much space around it they didn't interfere with others. As much as I like to stay in nice accommodation I'd prefer to put that kind of money into doing things in Bali/eating out/tours/shopping.
Hubby and I have only ever travelled to Bali pre-kids and when you're the ones without kids, other ppls children seem so much more annoying lol. I'm always conscious of not being the person that lets their children run riot on holidays and ruin it for others.
