Basically this is how it works.
The Balinese believe the Javanese to be thieves and wrongdoers of all kinds. The Javanese, however, say that the Balinese are sly. The Lombok residents say that their monkeys have not been to university like the Balinese monkeys. The Balinese, Javanese and those from Lombok are united in their opinion that the Sumatrans are so direct in their communications with others as to be rude. Anyone who has dark skin and curly hair are said by the Balinese to look like Papuans and they do not mean it as a compliment. Then there is the thing between the Bugis and the Dayaks and let's not even go near the subject of opinions by all and sundry about Chinese Indonesians.
However when I read this forum there seems to be Australians who dislike all Germans and are very suspicious of Russians, not to sure about Americans, find the French very dicey etc etc etc. When it all comes down to it the human race are a funny bunch aren't we.
