KERIOKEE, How I feel you pain, Had the same experience with a villa in seminyak owned by the same person, we had to send documention to verify our stay to T/A, which I had no problem doing.
Unfortunately, we had booked/paid up front in Feb 11,for Sept, I then read some negative reviews in July on T/A so I contacted her (happened to be in bali at the time) asked if we could view the villa, of course this was not possible!
She told me the negative reviews were spam!! a couple of days later & the negative posts removed, the authors complained in the T/A bali forum about their posts being removed!! then a name change of the villa (for advertising) & glowing reviews appeared, and the question was raised as who was writing them!
And of course this is exactly what happened after my review & photos were posted.
She owns quite a few villas in the area, google her name and it should come up with the list.
I certainly understand how you feel, I was like you, so peeved for ages about it, I choose to forget that week of our holiday. I couldn't agree more, defintely put it out there, so people know or at the very least are aware that wide angel lenses and soft lighting can make something crappy look palatial:)
