Arriving at Kusnadi on Christmas Day brought on some more major relax time. Brian and I haven't really chilled out before but we needed this more than any other time.
We know what Xmas and New Year Traffic is like so you get used of staying within walking distance. Though sometimes you need to get a Taxi.
Some Taxi Drivers ( including Blue Birds ) were really difficult to deal with which I hadn't experience before. Early in the trip 10,000 Rp plus meter was asked for and I got very peeved by this creep of a driver who swore abuse down to Bintang Supt because I asked him to turn on his meter. Well he missed out on the return fare and a tip.
As New Year approached some wanted 100,000 up front to go anywhere.
Wareong Tropical have moved into Rum Jungle Road opposite Yutz and our first night there was fab met some great Bali lovers that became our friends for many days ahead.
They made me for lunch a Nasi Camphur after checking with the chef and I will be honest and say that it was one of the best Ive ever had. As fans of this place you will know that the boys do a great J**gy J*g massage Bali Holiday song . Very entertaining.
Champs are now where Flying Piano were. I cant rave about the place simply because the food service was exceptionally slow. The food though was reasonable when you got it.
Tommy's is now non smoking and yes I smoke but the outside tables are gone. Quite frankly it looks like a junkyard now at the entrance with just a few inside tables. Such a pity.
Captain Cook Bar on the corner Opposite Kusnadi is always busy. Still the same.
Yutz. Well in my HNR report I stated that the quality of the steak and a rise in prices left me disappointed and I would prob not return. On our last eve and it was raining we decided to go back as only a short stroll from the Kusnadi.
We both had great steaks this time around. Brian had the steak special with added mushroom sauce extra and I had the steak with the beans bacon wrap and pepper sauce.
He had a bintang and I a Cappuccino. To be fair we waited a very long time service wise but it was worth the wait. So judgment a little revised.
New Years we were all decked out in our flashing glasses hats whistles trumpets and just about everything the sellers had on offer the days before.
Caught up with some friends and then my Brian headed off down to the Beach with them whilst I headed to Hidden Garden Villa's to catch up with the crew there.
Brians not too savvy with Beach operations and neither the crew in tail. They parked themselves at about 11 pm right by a hessian enclosure. They figured it could be a loo.
As midnight approached apparently chairs were being moved away from the Loo area which they figured was due to the incoming tide. Sounds reasonable. Then at midnight all was revealed !! The loo contained the display beach fireworks. Hahaha from all reports it was a bit scary.
Really enjoyed catching up with a few BTF folk. Missed out seeing a few of you though.
I came home missing an earing and a sandal so part of me is in Bali somewhere.
Cheers to all Luv the NT
