Hi. I would definately recommend you go up to Jl Legian from about 4pm & see all the floats while it's still light & they are all set down on the road. You'll get some fantastic photos. Once you've done that then you can walk along the route & find a nice place to view the parade. There are lots & lots of people there, local & tourist, so if you want a good position don't leave it too late.
Once they get down to the beach they will burn all the floats to get rid of all the bad spirits collected from their villages. Not sure what time this happens though.
The next day is Nyepi & no-one allowed out on the streets. Silent Day.
Then the day after Nyepi you head down to Kuta beach for the huge market day they have there. Heaps of people & great atmosphere.
You can also see the remains of the burnt out floats.
I hope you do attend the parade & don't go touring with your friends. You can go touring any day & you will regret missing the Ogoh Ogoh I think. :)
