The old Justice Buildings are in Klungkung on the way to CD but certainly worth a visit and the water palace is Tirta Ganga and also not to be missed. Other highlights include Tenganan, Village of the Bali Aga people and some wonderful handicrafts to see and buy. Make sure they take you to the main Village and not West Village which most drivers go to now and I do not know why. A whole day would be big and perhaps a night in a Pondok, I like Bambu in CD myself, which is a small hotel and cheap would be more workable and allow more time to visit the wonderful White Sand Beach for swimming and snorkeling and eat fresh seafood on the beach, in my opinion better than Jimbaran Bay by a long shot. You might also enjoy travelling to Amlapura which is the main city in the Karengasem Regency. Further afield you have Amed which is very nice and quiet and you can swim under Ganung Agung, spectacular. If you can get a driver to take the coast road route it would be the trip of a lifetime
