You do not need U.S. dollars in Bali.Just bring Australian dollars with you and change them into Rupiah on the street.As long as you go to a money changer that advertises "no commission' you will not be ripped off.Find out what your total hotel bill is then go and change your dollars elsewhere as most hotels do not give you an exchange rate as good as the money changer.
