I'm not sure about the rules re:food and drink in pool area but we have just recently cancelled our stay due to the renovations around the pool area commencing 1st Feb.
There are a number of renovations happening right through until May.
You might want to check their website to see if these will affect your stay in any way. They might not but maybe check to be sure.
