When the earthquake happened on the 13th October I was at the Galleria shopping Centre. That was scary I was in a shoe shop on the ground floor and the only place you could go was into the centre were the lawn area is. Too bad if anything came down there as you had nowhere to go. Two days later I went to Carrefour but it was closed and doing a few reno's to put the scaffolding up. I took lots of photos of the front of it. I thought they would have bulldozed it the cracks were huge and in some area large slabs of cement just broke away. Major structure problems. Could have something to do with being built on rice paddy's and not strong enough foundations. When it opened a few days later they had completed all the scaffolding at the front and they were patching up the large cracks on the pillars at the front. Unbelievable I though wouldn't get away with at home. Going up to the third floor you could actually see outside through the cracks in the wall near the escalators. They only had one window that wasn't effected by the quake all the rest fell out and they had boards up at them. It was still like this when we left on the 10th of Nov. I also had a look at the shops at the Galleria after the quake and on the side were the picture theatre is you can see the cracks there also.
