Maybe five years ago, I met a wonderful lady through this Forum...and even though I am on East Coast and Jan on the West...we maintained a strong friendship. I had previously lived in Bali for two years and was "homesick" for Bali when I returned and found this Forum to get my fix and met Jan this way. We then caught up in Bali and it was beginning of a happy five year friendship of catching up and staying same place to or three times a year. Jan introduced me to Bintangs(for me) Scotch for her, on Kuta beach at sunset, creambaths, "sop" laced with chillies for makan pagi, etc etc was there for me when I was sick and in need of a friend .Jan helped my daughter with the paperwork needed to bring her Indonesian partner to be married in Australia and consequently made a strong friendship with her also. We laughed through all the "Bali adversities" as she was the seasoned Bali traveller. Jan faced the insidious "C" with courage, fight and determination , even travelling back to Bali against doctors orders. I hope all readers take a minute to be grateful today for what we are blessed with and lift their bottles to Jan when next on beach in Bali....I will miss her..
