Bali Holiday! 18 hours and we're off to the airport, and what an adventure getting to this point has been!
This is supposed to be our 'unplanned and just relax' Bali escape.
Of course, whoever thought that up (my mother) didn't take into account the overriding need to organise that strikes her whenever an event draws near.
We had lists.
And I mean LISTS... Lists of what to pack, what to wash, what to buy here, what to buy there, what to wear and when to wear it. We have lists of gadgets, and time line lists, lists for those staying, lists for those going, each one to be ticked, crossed, read, perused, discussed, altered, and amended. Oh, and NEVER to be discarded!!
I now have to carry around a plastic display folder full of itinerary's, insurance papers, and LISTS.
You've got to love her!! (or you'd kill her! :P)
To be honest, its probably a very good thing that mumsie decided to organise everyone... the list of gadgets alone was a lifesaver!
I had no idea we had so many chargers that HAD to come with us! We have filled half a suitcase with cables, and cords. I recognise that we are a bit of a techno geek family, but this was ridiculous!! We have multiple laptops, smart phones, kindles, cameras, portable dvd players, ipods, and of course all the headphones, mice and the like that goes with it. I hope the hotel room has a spare power socket or 10, we're going to need it!
Did I mention that we are only going for nine days???
Luckily I've managed to keep clothing and the like to a minimum... we couldn't fit it anyway!!
Now I just have to survive the next week and a half. It's going to be interesting! Since our last trip, Uncle has gone completely deaf, Auntie has broken her left arm and right wrist, mumsie's legs/feet are now so painful she can barely walk across a room, Mstr 14 is now 15 and a sullen teen boy, Mstr 2 has turned 3 and turned into a terror, and hubby is... actually, he's fine, apart from the fact that he is allergic to his own sweat and we're taking him into a hot and humid environment. hehehehe.. goodness help me!!!
I think I want to stay home!! Ummm... no, its Bali!! Everything will be PERFECT! :)
