A short one as it was only a short stay.
Went over on the Athena, arrived on 24th and left on 25th so there really was not enough time to get to the orphanage at Amlapura.
We had asked a friend in Tanjung Benoa who operates a glass bottom boat to pick us up in Benoa Harbour, took us over to Novotel TB in exactly 8 minutes. One of the crew members went to TB for the water sports by cab, One hour and five minutes.
Peed the manager of the hotel off by refusing a complimentary lunch, we were getting into a few during happy hour and gladly accepted his invitation to the Christmas Eve dinner !
Christmas Eve we were entertained with carols by a choir from the Ebenezer orphanage, considering that English is not their first language the diction was perfect, they all sang in tune and at the end
they shook hands with each guest and wished them a Merry Happy Christmas. Such beautiful children.There were very few dry eyes around, I didn't, herself did, but I went quite close.
Back to the boat on 25th after a fabulous lunch, the little glass bottom boats have no protection from the elements apart from the top, two minutes out from the hotel the heavens opened and we were back at the Athena like two thoroughly sodden drowned rats.
Ah well, only 171 sleeps and we will be back in TB.
