Christmas morning and I am awake and up long before Miss 5. That is a first! All the swimming & playing with her new friend is wearing her out. Hubby is also asleep - in the other bedroom from Miss 5 and I as he was feeling unwell on Christmas Eve. I go to check on him & he has been awake during the night with vomiting & diarrohea and has abdominal pain. I phone reception to ask for a doctor and then cancel our brunch at St Regis and re-book for next Sunday.

When Miss 5 finally wakes up we open the presents (well Miss 5 opens them, even ours, and we watch) then the doctor arrives. He prescribes some medication, including painkillers & antibiotics and we head to breakfast so hubby can have tea & dry toast before taking his antibiotics.

Miss 5 and I hit the pool afterwards while hubby goes back to bed. Santa has bought Miss 5 some pool toys incl. an inflatable boat so she is itching to try it out. We hang out by the pool all morning as hubby is sleeping and by around 1.00pm he is feeling a bit better so we decide to head out for lunch.

I finally find the leather shop I've been wanting to re-visit is actually open so I pop in & order a copy made of a Country Road leather tote (saw it in the store in Aus, printed a photo from the website incl. dimensions). Cost will be RP 650,000 which is a whole lot better than AU $299 for the real deal :-) The bag won't be ready before we leave Sanur but they will drop it off to me in Nusa Dua.

We then jumped in a taxi & got dropped off at the back of Bonsai Cafe. We had lunch at Benno's (well Miss 5 and I did, hubby just watched!). I had grilled snapper fillet with coriander sauce, Miss 5 had fish & chips, we had pineapple juice, a soft drink & water for RP 250,000. The fish & chips was a HUGE portion, enough fish for 3 kids or 2 adults. My snapper was delicious, although the sauce was a bit salty.

Miss 5 had made friends with a little girl at an adjoining table & they were swimming, making sandcastles so we sat there for a couple hours. I wanted to stop into the Pantry for fresh mint so I headed off leaving hubby & Miss 5 to follow later as she was getting her hair plaited (no bogan taunts please - she's only 5 LOL). I called into Karry's Collection too & picked up my dress which I'm really happy with. When I came out we were having the biggest downpour since my arrival. I flagged a taxi & got soaked in the 30 seconds it took to get from the doorway to the road!

The hotel has planned a Christmas party tonight - a churrascaria (Brazilian barbecue) night with live music & Agus the hotel manager appearing as Santa Claus. They are all in a panic due to the rain and hoping that it stops before 6.00pm when they are due to set up the tables by the pool. Luck is on side & the rain has stopped by 6.15pm. It is the first time the hotel has had a Christmas party & the new manager Agus did a great job. The singer had all the kids up singing along with her & although Miss 5 got stage fright she ran back inside to get her bells (another gift from Santa) to play along on Jingle Bells :-) The churrascaria was delicious - chicken wings, pork ribs, pork loin & beef marinated & cooked on a barbecue spit. All accompanied by salad, an array of vege dishes and soup for RP 150,000 per person (incl. a glass of wine). The hotel does this every Thurs night now - at RP 100,000 per person & without Santa & the "free" wine :-)

I received a call during the day to say that we have secured a booking with Dolphin Lodge for Boxing Day so we'll be heading out to Serangan again at midday. I've also booked a body scrub by the pool for 8.30am and then have Lia (Cintya the tailor's sister) coming at 10.00am so I can have some clothes made. It's going to be a busy day in paradise :-)
