As if all the hassles of being in Bali (eg the gridlocked traffic, constant beeping, the touts, the unending hassling often involving physical contact, being seen as a walking ATM etc etc) aren't enough to deter tourists they now make travellers walk for over .5K, lugging vast amounts of things they have spent money on in Bali.
Having just been elsewhere in SE Asia where every aspect of life was so easy & pleasant (not to mention way cheaper than Bali) Bali really pales in comparison.
The authorities in Bali seem to think they can treat tourists spending their hard earned money there with scorn. They seem to think they have a captive market & can treat us any old way. So be it. I won't be going back any time soon.
