Hi All,
Just a quick summary. Almost 3 years since last trip!! Hubby, self & Mr 16. No plans - just R & R and catch up with our Balinese friends.
Flights: Flew Jetstar direct Melb-Denp. Both flights left on time & arrived 15 minutes early. All paperwork on Flights. Cashless cabin on trial both ways.
Airport: In and out in around 15 minutes!! Much confusion as most just queued as it used to be and were sent back to other counters to pay VOA - so we just zipped on thru.
Accommodation: Adi Dharma Cottages (first time). Superior room with queen & single bed. Could not fault this place. Staff fabulous, rooms spotlessly clean and great location.
Schoolies: Had a few where we stayed for the first few days but were well behaved & hardly saw them. Did check Schoolies website before booking accommodation.
Brissy Boys (Dirty Dozen - age 20 -21??) If any of your mums are on this forum - they should be proud!! You were great people to be around. Just good fun & respectful to all!!
Food: Ate around area we stayed. Recommend Warung Max, Stakz, Warung 96, Jeggeg Bulan, Ratu, Cafe Brasil - did not have a bad meal & very cheaply priced.
Shopping: Did all the usual stocking up. Basketball singlets 2 for 160,000, Vans 120,000. Prices have not changed much since we were last there.
Tailor: Janoko (have used for the past 10 years). Hubby & son had 5 pairs of dress pants made 150,000 each, Business Shirts 140,000 each. Did spoil myself & had double breasted Cashmere wool coat made 550,000. All immaculate.
Surf Outlets: Very disappointing - mostly junk out there. Only one with plenty of stock & reasonable prices was Rip Curl - wont be returning any time soon!!
General:
Weather: Hot & humidity high. Only 1 night of heavy rain. Last day or so showers which seemed to be increasing.
Rate: High 9360 Low 9000.
ATM's: Just take care - met 2 people who had cards swallowed - couldn't get them back. Still believe cash is the way to go!!
Kuta Beach: Very disappointed - we spend many hours on the beach - water full of rubbish & not being cleaned up when washed in.
It's time they did something!! Very few on the beach!!
Overall, got the R & R we needed & can't wait to return!!
Hope you are all still awake - went a bit longer than I thought!!
