Sadly, I don't think Adelaide will ever see flights operated by Air Asia as the flight time between Denpasar and Adelaide is beyond that which has been set by Air Asia's management as their maximum. A little different for Virgin as Adelaide can be incorporated as an extension of another domestic sector - e.g. Melbourne/Adelaide/Denpasar. It's all about aircraft sector maximisation to obtain optimum revenue. If Air Asia was to fly to Adelaide, they would have problems in loss of the aircraft from the network for such a long period - also they would have problems in maximum crew flying times. When Air Paradise operated the Denpasar Adelaide route, they carried additional crew with a rest area provided on board plus Pak Kadek literally made-up his own rules as he went along whereas Air Asia follows stringent International guidelines.
