Go to Search the Forum at the top of the page and type in First Timer Tips. Holladaze gave a wealth of information in September for First Timers to Bali.
We also always change our money in the Kodak Shop to the left of the Dynasty. The rate might by slightly lower than other vendors in market stalls but they won't rip you off.
It is always a good idea to buy from the fixed prices shops to begin with, so you get a good idea on the prices. Jenny's shop is across the road from the Dynasty, slightly to the left and she has a good range of clothing etc.
As soon as you leave the hotel each time, you may get bombarded with: you wan't transport, I plait your hair, I do your nails. This can be a bit overwhelming for First Timers, but just smile and say no thank-you.
