We just got back a few days ago after taking a 3 year old and a 8.5 month old.
We have been before, with just one child (he was 18 months at the time) and found it obviously alot easier.
It was heaps harder this time and really if you go with the thought that it will be a different holiday, to going without kids and dont expect too much you will be fine.
The Balinese held my youngest alot, which helped when eating out.
We found nap times very challenging, as the littlest was having 3 x sleeps a day (short ones), so found we were confined to the villa alot.
Also heat was a problem, it was really humid when we were there, so we really could only go down to the beach early in the morning. Late evening he was having dinner and getting ready for bed, so didnt go out then. We did go to Discovery a fair bit, as it is air con and was a short walk. He was great in there, and happily sat in the stroller.
We ended up hiring a highchair and 2nd stoller (for the 3 yr old as he tired quickly walking). As the younger was crawling, feeding him was quite hard and a bit of a challenge on the floor!! We took over 10 days worth of Rafferty Gardens food (lunch and dinner) and he ate weetbix and water for breakfast. Took over some snacks, although he just ate the fruit and bread there.
Also found he was pulling himself up alot on furniture, and as everything was tiled, it was hard to watch him every second as he wasnt too good at it.
Our only other problem was teething. What a nightmare, decided to pop his two front teeth from day one we got there. And lucky us, by the time we left, one was totally through and the other nearly. So had a few extra wake ups in the nights and he actually starting feeding again in the night (back to normal now though). So take over plenty of bongela, neurofen and panadol if your child is teething (or likely too).
Other than that, it was great. Fun times in the pool, eating and drinking lots. Small strolls out and about. If you go with the mindset that you cant do everything that you normally do, you will have a great time. I managed a few massages and a little bit of shopping in between sleeps. We also got a babysitter the last few nights, so we could go out to dinner, but the kids were already tucked up in bed and it was only for about 2hrs.
Take some pine-o-clean wipes to, to wipe down highchairs and hands. The kids didnt get sick at all.
If you have any questions let me know.
