We had two days at the end of our trip not booked and booked a one bedroom apartment privately owned at the Jayakarta for 1st and 2nd December. When we arrived we asked to see the apartment beofre checking in. Wow....! I have never seen the likes of the apartment from which schoolies had just left, having stayed there a week (we were informed by the staff member cleaning there)
I don't think they picked up a bottle, can, wrapper, tissue or anything in a week, had moved all the beds to the living room so that they could party in the bedroom which was bigger every night.there was rubbish, mess and clothes still lying around whoch they couldn't be bothered taking. The schoolies solution to the tedious task of tidying up after themselves? Leave a few hundred thousand rupiah on the bed.... (we saw the cleaner pounce on this as she entered) and obviously thought this was adequate payoff for the mess and dirt.
We were horrified that young people thought it was ok to leave such a mess, to disturb other with their behaviour (reported to us by others staying at the Jayakarta).
By all means have as much fun and noise as you like when you go OUT, but in your accommodation, have some respect for others.

But we fixed our problem - we realised that the schoolies had not yet gone home, and while they are obviously not all like that, we thought we would prefer a bit of peace and quiet. So we moved up the road to the Puri Cendana. A couple of schoolies there, but much more like the ones described elsewhere in this thread.

If you are the schoolies who stayed on the third floor of Residence A - Shame on you. If you are the parents it may be opportune to ask a few questions....
