Firstly, can not comment on Aneka as we have not stayed there.
On our last trip to Melasti (May 2010) we loved the place,
We stayed in a deluxe room and for the price, we were really impressed. We have booked for May 2012 and are getting the same room for $92 per night.
Found the staff really helpful and friendly.
Brekky was ample for us. It included the usual egg station, toast, pastrys, fruit, cereal, juice, hot food a plenty and tea and coffee.
We love the position of Melasti as it is close to the restaurants on beach road and just far enuf out of Kuta.
Take a look at Tripadvisor. There are some really favourable (recent) comments. The weird rule of not bringing drinks has now ceased.
