Changing flight whilst in Bali

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in changing their Garuda flight home at the Kuta Paradiso Hotel.
Does it cost a lot of money to change your flight? I have a first timer friend in Bali at the moment who wants to fly home a few days earlier, is it just a change ticket fee or is it a whole new fare?
