Agree with your comments on KL totally. Had 3 nights there before going elsewhere in SE Asia & 2 nights on the way back. I had researched KL extensively & was looking forward to great food, shopping & sights. Had 2 very good meals (both Indian) but otherwise our local Malaysian restaurants in Perth do way better & more authentic food for the same price!

The people were rude, especially those behind the wheel of a car even at pedestrian crossings. I was looking forward to buying heaps but only bought some lovely cushion covers. It's sooo noisy - needed earplugs just wandering around. The "tourist attractions" of Chinatown & Little India are grotty, crowded & unpleasant. Don't bother.

It was fun exploring on the monorail. I am sure KL does have quite a bit to offer but for the average tourist with only a few or several days there, it's just so hard to endure.

Our future travel plans involve going via KL but we will spend as little time there as possible. Far better places to spend rare holiday time.
