Am still lurking on the forum from time to time checking some of the inane (not insane) flame fights from the usual offenders.
Been up to my tersticles in massive megamission house renovations , dealing with tradies, idiot neighbors etc. takes up a fair amount of time inbetween changing jobs. So I've been inhabiting the home one renovation and building forum.
The travelling side of things have been a bit further afield than the normal Bali trips.
Locally the trips have been like Singapore, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu, Shenzhau, Saigon, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpar etc
Further away has been europe (family stuff in Holland and indulging the joys of Italy(another 3rd world country) as well as commiting the great sugar heist of europe) and meeting up with freinds in the USofA. (I love junk food but America has been under attack for years, not from terrorists but from their own food chain.)
I've doing a few cruise ships, Rome to Singapore, Hong Kong to Singapore, Miami to Mexico return, the inside passage of Alaska. Kinda fallen in love with cruise ships. It's all way to easy. lol.
One thing with the cruise ships tho is they hire a lot of indo staff especially as bar staff. my smattering of crap indonesian have come in very useful. particulary on american cruise ships, It's great fun looking at the stunned reactions as they answer sama sama to my terramakasi and then the penny drops someone talks to them in their own language. Most americans dont even know where indo is.
Revvy has been doing travelling of his own with one of the newbies from his 40th birthday trip.
Revvy has been getting into motorbikr racing the last coupla years so decided to goto Sepang last month to watch the Malaysian Moto GP only to end up watching simoncelli crash and die at the start of the race.
Needless to say , he's been a bit flat about that trip.
With a bit of luck maybe earlyish next year maybe able to squeeze in a shortie to Bali.
I must admit the last time I was in Bali , it didnt push my buttons like it used too. Maybe thats cos I had just came back from India.
The other admission is that I got the impression that Bali has been falling back into it's bad old ways it had before the bomb went off.
Anyway enuff of my inane waffle, This was only sposed to be a short post, yeah!!! sure!!!!
Cheers PD
ps, I still look out for the old names I recognize
