Hi,
We are leaving Monday morning and taking our 8 month old and nearly 3 year old. Its the second time we are going with kids (first time the 3yr old was 18 months). We had no problems the first time. Stayed at a not really kid-friendly hotel, which was our only mistake. Wasnt thinking when I booked it a year before !! Lots of concrete steps and the pool was elevated, so lots of potential accidents could have occured.
As everyone has said, bring Huggies for overnight - more if you can fit in, panadol, neurofen/bongela (if teething), stingose, wipes, anti-baterial wipes, aqua ear, baby vicks, claratyne (mine get hayfever and in case of rash or something similar), gastrolyte, hand wash, sunscreen, nappy rash cream, aeroguard, milton tabs, ear buds, swim nappies, little nappy bags.
But in saying all that, you can get alot of that all there. Just depends what you can fit really.
Ziplock bags are handy to store food and other things when out and about. I am taking multivitamins for my 3 year old, bandaids, and a little 10ml bottle of saline in case he falls. But really, not that necessary, I am a little over preacautious and I have the room.
I am also taking over lots of snacks the kids like, so I dont have to go out finding stuff, like sultanas, some baked beans (for dinner - if we go out), crackers, weetbix for the morning, little long life milks.
My list also has on it: bibs, bathers, hats, muslin wraps, socks (for indoor playcentre). monitor, toys, entertainment for plane (dvd player) and toys, bringing a peeler for some fruit, plastic plates and spoons and forks to use once and ditch.
My 3 year old did get a bit of diarrhoea towrads the end of our holiday last time, no other problems. I got some antibiotcs from the chemist and seems to help. Gave him gastroltye and he was fine.
Thats all I can think of at the moment.
Have a great trip. Bali is the easist place to go with kids. Hire anything extra you need from Balibabyhire.com. Nanny/babysitter servies are krisna and karsini. We just used one occaisionally at night so we could go out for dinner. We liked to keep the kids to their routines, so everyone was happy.
Also we are taking our stroller over, used it heaps last time with one child. This time we may hire a double pram so we can walk with both kids. Just depends on what we are planning to do. But we are taking a stroller and a sling.
Have a great holiday.
Belinda
PS: ?? andb something for them to suck on, on the way up and down for the plane eg: bottle, lollypop, toys etc..
