We have two little girls aged nearly four and nearly two and we have travelled to bali many times with them both (4 year old has been 5 times) and to date they have not got sick except for the 2 year old who got an ear infection last trip but was quickly fixed with a trip to doctor for some antibiotics.
You can buy most things over there for bub, nappies (not as good as ones in oz even the huggies but they do the job - i find mammo poko brand the best) you can get formula if they are still on bottle, i buy the nestle milk powder for children for mine to have when they have still needed bottle. They also sell baby heinz food but it is quite expensive compared to australia.
My girls love the fruit (as they do at home) over there and there is no shortage of banana's, apples, grapes at the supermarket.
The only thing I take from home is the precautionary medicines such as baby panadol and gastrolyte for children and cough mixture as I know if one gets sick the last thing I want to have to do is go out and track down panadol.
All the hotels we have stayed at have catered very well for children as far as portacot's and menu's. I prefer to take my own pram as I know it's comfortable for them and they will sleep in it if we went for a walk or out for dinner - mine also has a mozzie net which was good at night!
16 month old is too young to go to kids club without a parent or carer so we have found a wonderful nanny who my children adore and she would come to our hotel for a couple of hours a day take the children for a play during the heat of the day which they loved. She has become like part of our family, we aren't one's to go out partying at night but if we go out for dinner we would take her with us and she would play/entertain the children as well so we could enjoy our time as well.
I spoke to my doctor about vaccinations he didn't advise any others due to their age except ensuring that their normal ones are up to date, however i highly recommend you speak to your doctor as everyone is different. Make sure there is lots of hand washing and no touching stray dogs etc...
They will have a great time! I have left my email open incase you have any questions.
