After been an avid reader of the BTF for 6 years I have finally joined. Woo Hoo. I have gained sooo much helpful information that my trips to Bali would not have been the same without it. I have just returned from my 5th trip. I went with a girlfriend S, this was her first time. Flew Jetstar SYD to DPS arriving on time. Jetstar had no Immigration cards onboard a bit of a frenzy happening upon arrival. I didn't book concierge this time as I had read there were more booths open. Which there was. Took about half an hour to get through. Stayed for the 2nd time at beautiful Hotel Santika Beach Resort,Tuban - not to be confused with the Santika Beach Hotel, Kuta.
Thursday - Exchanged money every morning at the Kodak shop near Dynasty. Rate varied from 9100 - 9200. Wandered up to Matahari had the fish spa 150,000rp for two. Fixed up Nintendo DS games. Simpati card organised. Ended up at Melasti Spa I had a hair treatment S had a foot massage.
Friday - Headed down to Legian, picked out and order a day bed cover and 2 bolster cushions at Jaya Cushions AU40 cheaper than the foam. Visited Ketuts in Garlic Lane, put my order in for 17 pink/white Bintang singlets for my sons OZ Tag Team. First time I had been to Jimbaran Bay had beautiful seafood dinner costs AU35 each.
Saturday - went to Carrfour on Sunset Road, was open but had lots of scaffholding around it. Stocked up on Maybelline and Loreal products less than a third of the price in AUS. Caught a taxi to the Billabong Factory, they didn't have too much that grabbed me this trip. Went to TJ's Mexican in Poppies I. Great food.
Sunday - Headed up to Ubud for the day, I was so happy to see Wolly, my driver who I have used every time. Gave him a bag of clothes for his village and present for his little boy. Wolly dropped us off in Seminyak, ended up at Nirvana drinking cocktails, walked back via the beach stopping for Bintangs on the beach along the way back to Santika.
Monday - Too many Bintangs last night a bit of a slow start but was determined not to waste my day. Caught a taxi (Blue bird taxi's only)to Legian picked up day bed cover, great job. Picked up singlets from Ketuts and headed back for a nanny nap. Decided to get my hair done. Went to Johnny Andrea in Centro AU30 for regrowth and a hair cut, great job once again. Headed to Bumba Gump for dinner great shrimp cocktail.
Tuesday - Went to Biarritz homewares. Great place purchased a trolley full of bits and pieces. S booked us both in a 4 hour body treatment at Febri's. Those disposable undies are really not designed for the larger person. I didn't think I could stay still that long but I did. Jakuzzi, sauna, facial, exfoliatiion, it was lovely and very relaxing.
Wednesday - Last day.....visited Mrs Pak at Bali Rani and had my rings cleaned, Mrs Pak resized my rings last year and was really happy with her work. S and I went to Febri's and had our hair washed, straightened and a foot massage. Decided sooner or later we would have to pack to come home. Flew out 10.15pm that night arriving in SYD 6.45am.
