The planes are crap, they are smaller and older than Garudas fleet. The extras cost you, food, drink, TV etc. The flight takes 7 - 8 hrs ex Syd, Garuda is 5 - 6 from Sydney and if you get it at the right time Garuda will be cheeper. Oh and the 1 year we went with V, they changed our direct flight from Syd to via Melb making it about a 12 hours flight. The domestic part was delayed and was basically a total cock up by V. Would never fly with them unless absolute last resort.
