ADELAIDE DIRECT FLIGHT DENPASAR
This is our sixth trip, this time no kids (pure bliss). We got picked
up from the airport by our hotel Bali Garden Resort, transfers were
free and there is nothing better that seeing your name on one of
those plaques.
We have previously stayed at the Bali Padma pre kids, The Bali Dynasty with the kids a couple of times and the Mercure resort Kuta (just the girls).
The Bali Gardens room was really nice on the third floor and just a quick walk to the pool or reception area. We ate at their restaurant The Boardwalk and was really happy with service price and food. Tuna spring rolls were to die for! They have three pools and we mainly stuck to the adult only pool only for the fact that the main pool with the pool was really really dirty, you couldn't even see the bottom of the pool. Would not have been happy if the kids were with us as it surely would have been an infection for one of my kids I'm sure of it.
The first night we went to Gosha Melasti street Legain and the food is alway great sweet & sour prawns yummo go there and ask for Alex he is a great laugh. Cocktails come in huge decorated coconuts!
2nd night- The Boardwald cafe beach front to the hotel near the salt water pool, where the weddings take place. Husband had tuna spring rolls, lamb shanks, me the barrumundi which was beautiful cocktails and chocolate pudding all for around $50.00.
3rd night- Gabah on the main stretch on the corner before Kuta square and had a seafood platter (it was only ok)
In between we did lots of shopping watches from bagus (or Euro) in kuta square more expensive than the street but really good quality.
3rd night- Tj's Mexican in poppies 1, always a great feed sooo cheap and fantastic service as always. frozen watermelon margarita is a must!!!
4th Night- Waraung Asia Thai in Legian near double six and the Pad thai and thai green chicken curry was beautifiul.
5th Night- certainly the best and fell in love all over again. I was blown away by every aspect, the view the service the ambience, everything... It was the Rock bar (Ayuna Hotel) up the top of Jimbaran Bay, it was formerly know as the Carlton Ritz. We had cocktails in a huge lounge chairs for two overlooking the ocean and gorgeous sunset. Get there around 4.30 or you will miss out on a good place. The tapas food was really really nice. Best Pina Colada I have ever had.
6th Night- Ku De Ta say no more should have been great have been before I wanted to show my husband but was disappointed with the food and service and I was sick from this night. ooh a bit of bali belly.
7th Night- Queen of India - always beautiful
8th Night - Mozzarella by the Sea Legian, two for one cocktails I have surf & turf really quite nice.
Highlight- Happy Bike Cycling tour.. They said downhill experience, but there were about 5 medium hills. Gastro stop was plentiful that day, so I didn't have a lot of energy, I had to get off the bike and walk up the hills. At the end of the tour we were driven to a local village with a sensational traditional balinese lunch. The food was the best I have ever eaten, was well worth going.
We found the best massage spa called M& M Spa near Jenny No bull*** and Diannes fixed price shop (god she is a grumpy cow there). Fantastic driver called nyoman in the same lane email ciklak@yahoo.com
I love Bali and would love to be back there even though I have just gotten back.
