when I was young and naive and first came to Bali. I am older and wiser now. I do know what joeyrobbie means about taking people at face value sometimes and believing what you are told. I do not wish to become cynical of everyone I meet.
I do not however subscribe to the theory of "All Ballinese good all Javanese bad". It's just that the OPs story reminded of how naive I used to be so it's time for me to fess up.
My first time to Bali, long long ago when God was still a small girl, a young waiter up near Lovina told me that in Bali all the boys and girls were virgins until they married....................and I actually believed him.
Lho!!! Confession is so good for the soul! Come on Willow me old china, think back. Can you honestly say that you have never believed something that later made you think "why the hell was I so silly as to believe that?" Personally I have difficulty believing that anyone on this forum or in general has never been sucked in to some idea or another.
I have stgarted the ball rolling with my shameful confession so what about you? Unless of course you are all seeing all knowing and are about to attain Nirvana...........
