The best snorkeling is the north of the island, the best location to stay is south or central as the locals call it ( Beach House, Tri Na Nog, Scallywags, Trawangan all same area), most of the better restaurants and entertainment are in this area. Snorkeling is not recommended from the jetty to villa Ombak due to the amount of boat traffic.
The very best snorkeling is on Gili Air, there are day trips to Gili Air (30 mins local boat). If she stays at Scallywags they have a free speedboat transfer for guests as they have a second resort on Gili Air. If she wants to see the turtles this is the best option. There are also three island snorkeling tours available everywhere, and not expensive.
No matter where she stays she will have a good time.
