I suggest you stay with your plans for xmas day, you will not be disappointed! We went a couple of months back, the only cocktail dress I seen on that day was the lady singing at the Grand piano. Also there was a girl aged around five years of age going for gold on the dance floor doing twirls etc and she certainly not frowned upon. Just wear something smart and I promise you wont stand out. The only guy that did stand out to us was the 60 year old wearing shocking pink Gucci jeans which I believe to be "original" because not even a Bali market stall would sell something that hideous! lol
