that its a 5* luxury resort. whilst you dont have to come dressed to the nines, it is pretty much expected that you wont wear your boardies and bintang t-shirt.
for men, a nice pair of light pants or dress shorts with a collared shirt is good. for ladies, a comfy dress (not a market dress) is always a good idea.
may sound snobby, but you will get it when you go there.
the place isnt pretentious, but really, when people are paying $800 a night for accommodation, its not a big ask to have visitors dressed a little nicer.
and, besides that, its nice to dress up a little when in Bali from time to time.
